A Very Good Friday
Another great night's sleep. Rose to a brilliant blue sky. I guess I have spent all day in church on Good Friday for so many years I found the normality of the retail world quite shocking. Nothing was closed in Richmond. Breakfast at Starbucks was with Stations of the Cross outside in the square. The closest I got to the significance of the day.
My day was focused on the Thames. Walked along, ferried and then a long walk to Twickenham and on to Madeleine's at Whitton. Helpful locals have been much more useful than my GPS.
An amazing coincidence - Liz Vale, a great friend of mine, is heading to London for her brother's wedding in a fortnight. Of all the places he could live he lives in Whitton, the same suburb as Madeleine and family. Liz and Jack are staying on Eel Pie Island which I ferried passed and walked onto today. The only access a footbridge. (See photo). Just too spooky.
Enjoyed fish and chips with Cottrells and added pictures here and booked another theatre experience tonight. Blood Brothers tomorrow so hoping for some good weather to explore London solo before the show. It would be wonderful to have some more sunny days like today. Only managed 19500 steps today!
